Self Tape 201 - Week 4

It’s the fourth and final week which means it’s your final exam time! This is when you get to test-drive your self-tape setup in a live situation. This will mimic an EcoCast LIVE audition or a live callback. Just so you know, nothing should change. So use all of the tools we’ve taught you over the past three weeks to your advantage. For example, it’s always about the Golden Rule of the 201 – creating a living, breathing human being (you) existing in the world of the script. So use your physical space, visual space, the camera, and tone. Speaking of advantages, be sure to get a re-direct this week by getting your self-tape pre-read on time.

  1. Shoot at only one take of your mock audition sides.

  2. Also shoot a slate with a full body shot. In the slate, tell me your name, height, and current your location right now.

  3. Edit your take(s) first and slate last. Send only one file.

  4. Label the file Firstname Lastname-ROLE. (i.e. Mickey Mouse-ROLE)

  5. Email a downloadable link to your teacher’s email address. Use a file transfer site like Hightail or WeTransfer. (No YouTube or Dropbox).

  6. All file sizes must be less than 175 MB.

  7. Everything is due by NOON (PDT) two days prior to class. (Late submissions only allowed with casting permission.)
